Hey, I remembered your birthday! Hope this makes up for Christmas! Let me know what you think of the gift. I wasn’t sure what to get you, so I had the guy at the store help me. He said it was perfect for a kid your age. Hope you love it!

I’m pretty settled in D.C. Korea helped me get used to public transportation, so that’s been helpful. There are a lot of museums and memorials. I’m not sure if that’s your thing or not, but we can add it to the list. A bit outside of the city there are theme parks. Those are at the top of the list!

About your visit, we’re going to have to negotiate the amount of time. I know we planned for the whole summer, but I need to use some of my leave to visit Kendra. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned her to you before. We dated back in high school and reconnected about a year ago. I’d love it if your mom took me back, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen, and I need to think about my future.

For your visit, I’m thinking two weeks. I know it’s not what we planned, but it’s what I need right now. They’re going to be the funnest two weeks of your life, son! Then you get the whole summer with your mom and Oscar.
